Grenache | Mourvedre | Tempranillo

This co-fermented blend from Shake Ridge Ranch in Amador County is made from 60% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, and 15% whole-cluster Tempranillo organically farmed in one of the most geologically expressive vineyards in the Sierra Foothills. The vineyard’s volcanic-rich soils—layered with quartz, basalt, shale, and soapstone—bring a distinct slatey, granitic character that defines the wine’s structure and energy.

We ferment with native yeast and bacteria, including 50% whole cluster, and age the wine in concrete, using gentle racking to preserve a natural, minimal-intervention clarity and expression.

The wine is medium-bodied with a soft yet structured presence, where Grenache’s lifted aromatics of lavender, wild strawberry, and white pepper take the lead. Mourvèdre adds darker fruit depth, while Tempranillo provides quiet structural support beneath it all.
